| Over the
last three years and testing many bathroom spas by taking
water samples, I have noticed that after the spas have
been used, and cleaned in the normal way, using water
and a cleaning chemical, the bacteria lay dormant in
the pipes which shows that the bacteria are immune to
the chemicals.
This is an area of great concern. Spas that are placed in bathrooms of homes are never cleaned with chemicals, simply because most people wouldn’t realize that bacteria harbor in these spas as well. Even when chemicals are used, the bacteria are not totally killed off. Geopure’s mats can fill in this gap, so that when the mats are placed under spas, the mats can help to control the harmful bacteria. The mats will control the bacteria permanently. Be very wary when allowing your children to have a swim in your friends spa. If chlorine is used, it will take an enormous amount of chlorine to wipe out all bacteria .Over use of chlorine is harmful to your health, especially asthmatics.
Children’s immune system is not fully developed, and harmful bacteria can be taken through the mouth, ear and nose, causing infection. It can take up to 3-7 days to see the results of the infection. In the bathroom spas, the water condensation stays on the inside top of the pipes and bacteria stay in these water droplets. When the bath is filled with water, and the jets are turned on, the bacteria from the previous person comes into your clean water.
If you are building a new home, this is the best time to put the mats in place as shown in the photo. Place the large mat under the pump or under the bath itself, and the smaller mat, attached to the pipes with a cable tie, supplied .The large mat works on the spa when there is no water in the spa, by treating the bacteria in the pipes, and the smaller mat treats the water as it is moving at speed through the pipes.
To date, Novotel Brisbane,Twin Waters Resort, Cypress Lakes Resort, Golden Door Resort in the Hunter Valley, and Sofitel Broadbeach, all use Geopure products.

Cypress Lakes Resort , Golden Door Resort in the Hunter Valley and Twin Waters Resort, on the Sunshine Coast, use the skimmer box plates for their pools, mats and a plate for the spa. This is a great way of reducing bacteria from the swimming pools and heated spas, and also body fat build up. By using Geopure’s products,this can reduce the use of chemicals. The plates and mats help to dissolve the body fat in the pools and help take away the black ring around the pool.
Sofitel Broadbeach Hotel, Gold Coast, decided to do their own testing of the mats under the bathroom spas in guest rooms. After a short time a water test was taken and sent to Biotec Lab in Brisbane, which is NATA accredited. The test came back as a less than 5 cfu’s. The management didn’t believe the results, so a second test was taken, but the results of the 2nd test were the same as the first. The hotel promptly bought the mats for all of the 22 spas. The spas are permanently kept clean 24-7, without the need to rinse with chemicals and water, saving time and money. No bacteria and no black water.
Normally, Hotels do not take water samples from the
bathroom spas and just think they are clean, but the
spas are not. The best way to test a spa is to fill
the spa and let the pump run for about 2-3 mins and
watch for any dirt to come to the surface. At this time,
don’t put in any bubbles, as it may cover up the
black water, which is mainly body-fat.
The mat dissolves about 95% of the body fat. The frequencies
emitted from the mat works best when the water is moving,
but will also work while the bacteria are in the pipes,
as the bacteria are living and are also moving, which
attracts the frequencies from the mat.
If there is a roof over your outdoor spa, a Geopure
plate can be attached to the ceiling, facing the water.
The frequencies from the plate can work up to a height
of about 4-5 metres.
Legionella is a problem with the spray of the water
from the spas. The Geopure plate will help to eliminate
Legionella bacteria. The plate and mat will also help
to kill off ecoli and pseudomonas.
Original installation for 18 months trial period
results shown below. 17-8-2005: Both sand filters required
less backwashing and rinsing with changeover not as
often.
EML Laboratory tests carried out bi-monthly results
have shown minimal to zero on;
*Faecal Coliforms
*Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
*SPC Standard(bacterial) plate count
*Legionella
Total Dissolved Solids(TDS)& Phosphates have been
within the required guidelines and at a more controllable
rate.Importantly the decrease in useage of chemicals
from 30%& up to 50% during busy and non busy use
periods of both Pool and Spa.
Adding to the cost savings, we have reduced the amount
of water wasted as we would, prior to installing the
plate, dump the water in the Spa, every 2 to 3 weeks
and backwash daily. With the Plate installed, we now
only dump the Spa bi-monthly and backwash once a week.
The number of backwashes required for the Main Pool,
has been reduced by 50%. Scum line appearance around
the all water level lines have been minimal and easier
to clean and maintain.
Removal of the GEOPURE PLATE for a 3 month period, showed
an increase 2 fold right across the board and indicated
that the Plates were having a major cost wise on maintaining
the Pool& Spa to a higher standard as required well
above the Government set of standards.
The Main Pool has a water capacity
of 660,000 litres and has only 2 Plates. One on either
end of the pool, attached to an overhang portion of
the shade building.

The Geopure plate can be attached to
the ceiling of an indoor spa, or inside the ceiling
facing the water, either in Hotel or Sports Club. These
spas are used by a lot of people and anything can happen
in heated spas. By placing mats or plates over the spas
or around the pipes, also helps in saving money by reducing
chemicals, especially chlorine, and also saving money
by not having to change the water as much. If a plate
is mounted on the ceiling, one needs to wipe the surface
of the plate at least once a week. If this is not done,
the mixture of waterspray and chemicals, will form a
skin over the surface of the plate, and the plate will
stop emitting frequencies.
